What I Factor In.
Ford or Chevy, Coke or Pepsi, Red Sox or Yankees, I can go on and on. Rivalries have been around for centuries. So it’s not surprising when you look into the diesel industry and see the same if not more of them. A common one is between PureFlow AirDog and FASS Diesel Fuel Lift Pumps. As a sales rep, Service Adviser, and General Manager I’m always asked what my recommendation is, or which brand of lift pump I prefer. As an authorized dealer for PureFlow AirDog you might think I’m a little bias. Truth is I have been in this industry for over 20 years, and have dealt with many different brands of products throughout my career. I try to share my knowledge with my customers to help them make the best decision.
When I suggest a product such as a Lift Pump to my customers I base my recommendations and comparisons on not just the quality of the product, but the experience with the company as well. For example, I might think about the return process, refunds, warranties, and customer service. Also I look at what it takes to install that product. What is our in house experience or my customers experience running and using it on their vehicle. I look at how it’s made, what features it has, and more importantly would I install it on my own vehicle.

I understand that there are many other lift pumps on the market. The most common lift pumps I get asked about are either made by FASS or PureFlow AirDog. So if you were to ask me which lift pump do I recommend I would have to say the PureFlow AirDog II-4G. In my experience selling, installing, and dealing with AirDog, they are a superior pump to what is currently on the market.
The PureFlow AirDog II-4G Fuel/Air Separator or Fuel Preporator is a compact, ultra quiet, reliable lift pump that performs well on all types of applications. It has an easy straightforward install that most people with some technical skills can install at home. The instructions are thorough, and detailed. Most of the installations that we have done have not required the use of a sump. Although there are some exceptions like the 01-09 Dodge Ram models that have a poor fuel pick up. All PureFlow AirDog Lift pumps come with a lifetime warranty. Most importantly PureFlow AirDog as a company are great to deal with. Neither our customers nor us have had any problems dealing with warranty, technical, or parts issues. Lastly I rarely ever have the AirDog II-4G Lift Pumps come back for replacement, problems, or service.
In closing I’m not trying to push anyone into purchasing one Brand of lift pump over another, but rather give you insight on how I make my recommendations to our customers. There is also nothing wrong with a FASS Pump or AFE, or other brands on the market. They all perform well. I consider all the factors above and form my own opinion on a brand or manufacture. However I use experience and knowledge with products such as PureFlow AirDog on a daily basis to point customers in the right direction. I can honestly say that AirDog has been our #1 recommended lift pump. PureFlow AirDog lift pumps are a reliably quality product that we recommend and install with confidence. I get exceptional customer feedback from my customers that have purchased and installed them. Plus they are made in the USA!
